  1. You left a LIKE on my blog so I thought I’d stop by. What an interesting blog! I wanted to leave a comment on your recent post about Cretan mousteleveria–I hope I spelled that correctly–but couldn’t figure out how to do it, so only left a LIKE instead. My wife and I spent time in Greece, most of it in Crete, about ten years ago for an academic conference on oliver oil, and to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the initial studies on Mediterranean diet done there shortly after the Second World War. Crete is one of those magical places, like Puglia or Basilicata, where I would move tomorrow, without regrets. The food and the people both seemed straightforward and generous. Every time I read more bad news about the economic situation there I recall how lovely people were to us. Good luck with the blog. I’ll be back. Ken

    • Thanks for your visit and the wonderful words you offered to my blog.
Yes, Crete is a wonderful place, there are so many infesting edible plants to discover, the nature, the light and the people really make you feel home there.
I stay from time to time there for vacation on Crete, you can sit there and simply look around and notices again and again how beautiful the world can be,
The economic situation is really sad. The people began to eat less meat, smoke less… Even expats cook more and more at home and don’t go to the tavern for dinner.

    • Hi Jody and Ken,

I didn’t want to set comments on the single posts, For this reason I switched this off.

I have just created and e-mail address for this blog as I saw that the traffic is increasing from week to week and I get more comments and questions.

      The address is artankitchen@ymail.com.

Please ask me there the question.

Thanks a lot for following this blog.

    • Thanks a lot for you comment, roses (flowers or imitations) are one of my favorites themes.
I would like to allow comments to my posts, but it’s a question of time management for me and I know I wouldn’t be able to answer to all the comments and I wouldn’t feel well in this way.
You are a really young and good blogger; you are lucky you have the possibility to travel and look around. This is one of the best schools in any case! Good luck and all the best.

  8. G’day and thank you (blush, blush) for your two Lovely Blog Awards today! I have updated my blog with pingbacks to you. http://whatsonthelist.net/

Here are 7 things people might not know about me too! (Some may lol)
    Not in any order:
    1. ONE of my nicknames is FANG — for my “enjoyment of all things food! lol
    2. When it come to food (and real life lol), I STILL react like I am that child of 5; with wonderment and surprise! (Ask my friends, they WILL tell you lol)
    3. I have always wanted to jump out of a cake! lol (not scantily clad lol)
    4. I was thrown out of school on Day ONE for my um, leadership skills! (TRUE!)
Luckily my mum (who worked at the school) convinced them to give me another chance!
    5. I dream about being blindfolded and have “a famous food person” feed me bite-size foods that will make my taste buds sing ! (Can you TELL what color my face is?) lol
    6. Strawberry Shortcake was my all-time favorite childhood dessert; was made EVERY year on my birthday!
    7. I am NOT allowed to touch the Lazy Susan whenever out in a restaurant as IF you can imagine in S-L-O-W motion….It FASCINATES me and I decided to spin it to see how fast I could spin it when the Soy Sauce MAGICALLY flew off and (again in S-L-O-W motion) splashed EVERYONE at the table! Luckily my friends QUICKLY thought IF they saw that in a movie, it WOULD be funny! Needless to say, I am on a LIFELONG ban! lol

Hope you are laughing with me now too! Again, a VERY big, big thank you!
    Joanne

  10. I’m afraid that the link from your email to the post about chickpeas (instead of “gigantes”) is broken. Clicking on the link only brings up a “404 – Page missing” error. Ken

  15. Hi,
This is a great blog and I would love for you to join me and some great food bloggers from around the world over at Foodify.:) We help one another with recipes & promote each other. I enjoyed reading that you are a bee keeper as my parents have a lavender business and we started our own honey bees a few years ago. Their company is called Friends Of The Earth Lavender. You can find my food blog over at Kouzounas Kitchen and explore Greek recipes and more. My roots are from Greece and I love finding phyllo dough recipes, especially ones that include spanakopita. 🙂
